Consultancy

We provide a range of consultancy services to most small and medium sized enterprises.

A lender, such as your local bank, will be more sympathetic to your requirements if you can provide the type of information detailed here. However we cannot over-emphasise the importance of having this information for your own purposes.

The potential range of projects is vast but the following list will provide some insight into the most popular areas where we can assist:

arrow   Business Plans -
Preparation of business plans for both internal and external use (e.g. for the purpose of obtaining finance, determining customer credit policy).
Without a plan a business is without direction.

arrow   Profit Forecasting -
By assessing your current position, and in association with the business plan, we can provide a 'Forecast Model', against which actual performance is measured.

arrow   Cash Forecasting -
This is not to be confused with the Profit Forecast. It is equally, if not more, important. All businesses require working capital and many have failed due to poor cash management and control.

arrow   Profit Improvement Plans -
This is not just a cost cutting excercise, but encompasses the entire financial aspects of the business. Whilst there are clearly essential expenses the service may be available at a lower cost. The current economic climate is an excellent time to review all expenditure (not just overheads).
For example many businesses use up expensive space for very slow moving stock. The result of this is that although it is being sold for a price greater than it cost, when account is taken of hidden costs such as interest, together with the fact that a more profitable line could better use the space, then it may not actually be beneficial to supply it.
There is a simple formula to use for purchasing the correct amount of stock, taking account of cost and frequency of sale.

Management Accounts -
The annual accounts that have to be produced for statutory purposes do not provide the necessary level of detail for managing and controlling the business.
Management accounts are designed for this purpose and can provide exactly the level and detail of information required. They are produced at more frequent intervals and can go down to profit per item or by product category. They are designed to provide all of the information that you require.

arrow   Other areas -
arrow Special projects - do you have an idea that you need to have evaluated?
arrow Employment policy - do you have the most cost effective method?
arrow Outsourcing - do you spend too much time doing the jobs that could be economically outsourced thus enabling you to concentrate on core business activities? This could be either a temporary or permanent arrangement.
arrow In-house Systems - do you have an efficient system to manage your customers, order processing and accounting requirements?
